Ronald Faye (FATTIE) Deaton, 76, Blacksburg, SC, passed away Friday, July 15th, at Cherokee Medical Center, Gaffney. Known to his family and friends as FATTIE, he was a native of Cherokee County. He was the husband of Brigitte Peeler Deaton and son of the late Stoy William and Mary Louise Tucker Deaton. A graduate of Blacksburg High School, he was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, cherishing his memory are daughters; Amanda George, Crystal Cole, Tonya C. (Tracy) Blanton, Jennifer (Alan) Courtney all of Gaffney and Nichole Wallace of Aiken, SC, sons, Manson and Daniel Deaton of the home, sisters; Brenda Giles, Wanda Dixon, Sue (Randy) Bridges and Joyce (Melvin) Jolly all of Blacksburg. Also are "Poppie's babies", grandchildren, Hunter and Taylor Courtney of Gaffney, Mary Beth Blanton of Gaffney, Jerrica (Jake) Bailey of Mooresboro, NC and Peyton (Blake) Pennington of Gaffney and great grandchildren Audrey, Walker and Bailey.
Along with his parents, he was predeceased by twin brother, Donald Raye Deaton, and brother in laws, John L. Giles and Larry.
Mr. Deaton will lie in state at his residence and the family will receive friends at the residence beginning tonight, Saturday, July 16, 6:00 PM throughout the day on Sunday, July 17, 2022. A service to celebrate his life will be held graveside, Monday, July 18, 2022, 11:00 AM, at Lighthouse Baptist Church, Blacksburg, with Rev. Grady Gregory officiating.
