Robert "Bob" Lynn Soth

Robert "Bob" Lynn Soth, 73, of Blacksburg, SC passed away late Monday night, March 28, 2022, at his residence.  He was the beloved husband of Emma Pressley Soth and son of the late Robert and Dorothy Soth Left to cherish his memory along with his wife are a daughter Jennifer Matton (Pete) of Blacksburg, SC and a son in law, Joe Fields of Gaffney, SC. 3 grandchildren, Ethan Blackman, Robert Lucky and Niki Abernathy. 6 great-grandchildren, Patience Abernathy, Amaya Abernathy, T.J. Abernathy, Harlee Abernathy and Caydon Koewing. He also had 3 sisters, Sandy Minder of Henderson, Nv., Donna Manning of Bull Head City, Az. and Lisa Thomas of Heber Springs, Ar.

Along with his parents he is predeceased by a brother, Terry Soth, a daughter Wendy Fields and a grandchild Christina Blackmon.

Formerly of Mint Hill, NC, Mr. Soth served his country during Vietnam with honor and retired after 30 years with the DEA and US Air Force, at the rank of Senior Master Sergeant. He was known for his dry sense of humor and enjoyed growing hydroponic plants. Bob loved birds, specifically hummingbirds and all animals. His service to others did not stop in the military as he enjoyed volunteering at the Carolina Raptor Center, the Relatives of Charlotte and with Brownie Scouts. He was also a baseball player in the minor leagues while in California. and enjoyed walking and traveling into Canada.

Private services will be held at a later date.
