Rejeana Earls McClain, 78, of Blacksburg, SC went peacefully to be with her Heavenly Father on September 8, 2023 with family by her side. She was the daughter of the late Johnny and Georgie Earls. She married the late Lawrence Benjamin McClain in 1965 and started a family in their hometown.
Rejeana attended Blacksburg High School where she had many fond memories as Drum Majorette for the marching band. Following high school, she began her career as a trained acoustical designer with Wendell Fabrics. Following in her mother’s footsteps, she then transitioned to a career in home health with DHEC of Cherokee County; she was known for going above and beyond showing genuine care and compassion for her patients. Later in life she shared her love of people and nature with her community once again by opening her own flower shop. She always enjoyed celebrating Christmas with the community, holding parties and caroling at her home.
A love of family, including her three daughters and grandchildren was evident, but her greatest love was her Creator and Heavenly Father. She was a lifelong member of Cherokee Falls Church of God, where she was active as choir director, adult Sunday School teacher, and community outreach and Children’s Church organizer. She enthusiastically shared her desire to serve and be a vessel used for the glory of God with anyone she met. Her presence on this earth was felt by many and she will be deeply missed.
Rejeana is preceded in death by her beloved bother, Larry Steve Earls. She is survived by her loving daughters Lynn McClain Nasato (Brad) of Seattle, WA, Christy McClain Phenicie (Chris) of Gaffney, SC, and Leah McClain Ellis of Charleston, SC. Her special Nana adventures will be extremely missed by her grandchildren Emaline Ellis, Cortlyn Phenicie, Avery Ellis, Avonlea Ellis and Hunter Nasato.
Receiving of Friends and Family will be held Thursday, September 14, at the Funeral Home from 6-8 PM. A service to celebrate her life will be held 2:00 pm Friday, September 15, at Cherokee Falls Church of God with Pastor Cynthia Lovingood, Sister Linda Stacey Willis, and Pastor Laura Benson officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery.
Pallbearers serving are Ethan McRobie, Seth McRobie, Brad Nasato, Chris Phenicie, Sam Smith, and Chris Weaver. Honorary Pallbearers will be Avery Ellis and Jansen Ham.
