Peggy Lee Vess, 87, of Blacksburg, SC went home to be with the Lord, Friday evening, January 27, 2023, while surrounded by her Family. Born January 11, 1936, in Old Fort, NC, she is the daughter of the late Amy Edna McEntire and John Sullivan Vess. A graduate of Gaffney High School, she retired from Wal-Mart, was a member of the Red Hat Society, and a member of Beech Street Presbyterian Church in Gaffney, SC.
Peggy loved the Lord and her family, she enjoyed cross stitching, word searches, and collecting quilts.
Left to cherish her memory is son, Johnny K. Davis (Teri), of Port Orange, FL and daughter, Jeannie C. Davis (Steve) of Blacksburg, SC, sons, Brandon W. Davis (Erin), and Marty L. Davis (Sarah), both of Chesnee, SC; 12 grandchildren, Jessica C. Ramsey (Brad) of Blacksburg, SC, Kertus Davis of Gaffney, SC, Tabatha Wilkins (Joel) of Blacksburg, SC, Wendell Davis Earls of Blacksburg, SC, Cole Davis of Chesnee, SC, Banks Davis of Chesnee, SC, Gage Davis of Chesnee, SC, Fin Davis of Chesnee, SC, Willow Davis of Chesnee, SC, April Orr (Colby) of Augusta, GA, Josh May (Audrey) of Boiling Springs, SC, Abby Bennett of Port Orange, FL; 5 great-grandchildren, Hunter Wilkins, Ashlyn Wilkins of Blacksburg, SC, Cooper Davis of Gaffney, SC, Kylee Orr of Port Orange, FL, and Presley Orr of Spartanburg, SC; brother, Jack Vess of Gaffney, SC, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by sister, Charlotte Ramsey, brother, Gene A. Vess (Nancy), sister-in-law, Joanne Vess, father to her children, Harold W. Davis, and grandson, Kyle Neely Davis.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of her caregivers from Agape Hospice.
A gathering of friends and family will be held from 3:00-4:00 PM, Tuesday, January 31, 2023, with a Celebration of Life Service to follow, 4:00 PM, Cherokee Falls Baptist Church, 109 School Street, Blacksburg, SC, with the Rev. Jimmy Earp officiating. At other times the family will be at the home of her daughter, 943 Batchelor Dr, Blacksburg, SC 29702.
