Linda Turner McClain, 75, of Blacksburg, SC peacefully went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, June 6, 2026. She was the wife of the late John A. McClain and daughter of the late Marvin "Bill" Turner and Jeanette Mullinax Turner.
Linda worked at TNS Mills, then in home health where she spent years caring for the elderly throughout her community.
She was an amazing artist, talented cake decorator, gifted writer, wonderful cook, and was known for her incredible pumpkin pies. But most importantly a loving Mom, grandmother, and great grandmother, which were her favorite roles.
Linda was loving, compassionate, and was best known for her sense of humor & quick wit. She enjoyed making everyone around her laugh. She will be immensely missed.
Left to cherish her memory are her children John Paul McClain of Blacksburg, Glinda Derrick (Gene) of Cherokee Falls, and Kelly Allen (Phillip) of Grover. Her Grandchildren Justice Varnadore of Cherokee Falls, Hannah McSwain (Trevor) of Shelby, Hope and Elijah Allen of Grover, Turner, Serenity, and Paisley Derrick of Cherokee Falls and Zach and Cody Derrick of Fairfield County, SC. Great grandchildren, Margo Lily McSwain and Bentley Derrick. Also surviving are her sisters Kathyrn Owens (Roger) of Shelby, NC and Jan McElroy of Jacksonville, FL.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters Brenda Owens and Patricia Cook.
A Visitation will held Friday, June 12 from 10 - 11am at the funeral home with a Celebration of Life Service to follow at 11:00 AM. Officiating will be Rev. Jerry Allen and Rev. Johnny Mullinax. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Blacksburg, SC.
Pallbearers serving are Greg Cook, Turner Derrick, Keith Owens, and Michael Mullinax.
