Linda Upchurch Dover

Linda Upchurch Dover, 79, of Blacksburg, SC, passed away Wednesday, May 4th, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home, Spartanburg, SC. A native of Cherokee County, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Alton and Margaret Moss Upchurch and the widow of William (Junior) Dover. She was a member of Nazareth Baptist Church, and was a loyal Blacksburg Wildcat fan, as she was a member of the Wildcat Class of 1960. Linda retired from Wendell Fabrics, after 40 years, where she worked with marketing and as Administrative Assistant. From there, she greeted many visitors with a smile and kind word, at the Welcome Center in Blacksburg for 16 years. Linda enjoyed reading, cooking, going to the beach, especially to Ocean Lakes and riding the golf cart. She especially enjoyed watching her son, Tommy, play various sports. 

Linda was blessed with a loving family to cherish her memory, which include her son, Tommy Dover and his wife, Amy, of Blacksburg and grandchildren, Brittany Dover and Frankie Mode, Blacksburg, and great granddaughter, Emma Dover Demkowski, Greensboro, NC. Additionally, are brother, Ronnie "Booger" Upchurch (Deidra), sister, Trudy Upchurch Martin (Cecil), brother, Scott Upchurch (Cleetie) and sister-in-law, Diane Hardin Upchurch, all of Blacksburg and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Gary Upchurch.

The family will receive friends, Saturday, May 7th, 1:00-2:00 PM, at Nazareth Baptist Church. A Celebration of Life Service will immediately follow at 2:00 at the church, with Phillip Martin and Jamie Billings officiating. Entombment will follow at Clingman Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. 

Pallbearers serving are Clint Upchurch, Matthew Martin, Josh Upchurch, Phillip Martin, Tristan Grigg and Carson Grigg.
