Laura Belle Moss Black of Blacksburg, SC, passed away peacefully at home, Sunday, September 3, 2023, surrounded by family and friends. She was the wife of Raymond "Ray" Kenneth Black, Jr. and daughter of the late Loyd Victor Moss and Sarah White Moss. In addition to her husband, left to cherish her memory is a daughter Crystal Moss of Blacksburg, a granddaughter Makenzie Hardy and great grandson Princeton Kenneth Hardy of Blacksburg, SC. Her sisters Vicky Richardson & Aubrey Evans and a brother Loyd V. Moss, Jr (Virginia) all of Blacksburg.
She worked for TNS Mills as a winder for 27 years and Herbie's Fireworks. A member of Hopewell Baptist Church, she was a dedicated children's worker.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Hopewell Baptist Church, Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at 3 pm with Virgil Hampton officiating. She will lie in state prior to the service. The family will receive friends after burial in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers serving are Ethan Richardson, Jacob Richardson, Bobby Richardson, Timothy Moss, Brian Moss, Landon Mertz with Loyd Victor Moss Jr. and Princeton Hardy as honorary pallbearers.
The family would like to extend their appreciation and thankfulness to Spartanburg Regional Hospice and its staff for the care given to Mrs. Black.
A special thank you goes to Timothy Moss for care and love given to his "Sweet Pea".
