George Harry Moss, 84, passed away peacefully while surrounded by close family on September 11th 2024. He was born on June 16th, 1940 to Warren and Louise Moss in Blacksburg, SC, where he remained until the day of his passing.
A graduate of Limestone College, George enjoyed a distinguished professional career across a variety of industries. George’s passions included attending church on Sundays, cheering on the Clemson tigers, golfing with close friends and spending cherished moments with his twin brother, James.
He was preceded in death by his siblings Bea Stauber, Ed Moss, Wimp Moss, Modra Bedford, Sara Johnson, Margaret Ann Patterson, Peggy Robbins, Jerry Moss and his twin brother James Moss. He is survived by His beloved wife of 64 years, Sandra Moss, whom he described as the prettiest woman he had ever met - as well as his three kids; Jeff (Michelle) Moss, Melody (Brian) Smith, Kevin (Tonya) Moss. Four grandchildren, Tanner Smith, Tori Smith Gettys (Brandon), Whitney Bishop, and Gracie Moss, and great grandson Sayden Bishop. His sisters Marlene Earls, Sue Patton and Gayle Beam. George and Sandra lost their dear son Tim Moss to cancer in 2022 and George, who mourned since the day of his passing, looked forward to being reunited with him. George had many nieces and nephews who were all very special. They called and checked on George regularly, especially after losing his twin brother. Those whose knew and loved George are invited to Hopewell Baptist church at 511 Old Chester Rd on Sunday, September 15th to celebrate the wonderful life lived. Receiving friends at 2:00. Service at 3:00.
