George Willard Howell

George Willard Howell, 90, passed away Friday, August, 14, 2020 at Peachtree Centre, Gaffney, SC. A native of Seaboard, NC, he was the son of the late Jimmie R. and Minnie Irene Long Howell. Mr. Howell retired as an operator engineer in road construction.

Cherishing his memory are sons; Robert Howell, Cowden, Illinois, Lloyd Howell, Colorado, and Timothy Lee Howell, Blacksburg, daughters; Barbara Lynn Howell, Cowden, Illinois, and, Candace Wright, Spartanburg, SC, sister, Eula Glover, Buck Mtn., NC and numerous grandchildren and great grand-children. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Ann Duffey, NJ and brother, John Howell.

Visitation will be held, Sunday, August 16, 2020, 2:00-3:00pm at Freewill Baptist Church of Gaffney with a Celebration of Life service to immediately follow at 3:00pm, with Rev. Dennis Tolley officiating. Burial will be held in Seaboard, NC, Tuesday, August 18th, at 11:00 am at Seaboard Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gaffney Freewill Baptist Church, 187 Whelchel Road, Gaffney, SC 29341.
