Genevieve Valdes, 86, of Blacksburg, SC went home to be the Lord, Thursday, December 3, 2020 at Peachtree Centre. Genevieve was a daughter of the late Essie (Wright) and Walter McDaniel and wife of the late Salvodore Valdes. She was a graduate of Blacksburg High School. She enjoyed listening to gospel music and was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church.
Cherishing her memory are a niece, Crystal R. Martin and her husband, Dustin, of Blacksburg, a nephew, Tim Rumfelt and his wife Xiomara, of Lyman, SC and a sister-in-law, Rose Heurta, of Tampa, Florida.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Moree McDaniel, Vera Ann Rumfelt, and Alberta Elrod, and three brothers, W.T., J.C., and Glenn McDaniel.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held, Monday, December 7, 2020, 1:00pm, graveside at Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery, with Reverend Eddie Bolin officiating. On behalf of the family and White Columns, we ask that those wishing to attend the service to please wear a facemask. Those wishing to pay their respect prior to the service may do so on Monday, from 9:00am-12:00pm. The family will be at their respective homes prior to the service.
The Valdes Family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the Cherokee Medical Center Intensive Care Unit, Peachtree Centre Staff and Dr. Ezman, and to Compassus Hospice.
