Ella Mae Harding, 98, of Clover, SC, Formerly of Blacksburg, SC passed away June 9th, 2022 at White Oak Manor of York, SC. She was born April 25, 1924 in Sharon, SC to the late Herbert C. Hudson and Mable Traylor Hudson, and was married to the late John Roy Harding for 54 years.
Ella Mae graduated from Sharon High School in 1940 and attended Winthrop College. Prior to her marriage she was employed in the lab and offices of Rock Hill Printing and Finishing Co. She was a homemaker, excellent seamstress, gardener, and cook. A member of First Baptist Church of Blacksburg, she began attending First United Methodist Church after moving to Clover in 2002. Ella Mae was a member of Ruth Chapter #12 Order of Eastern Star.
Left to cherish their mother's memory are her son, John Roy Harding II (Janet) of Clover, SC, and her daughter, Janice Moorhead (Henry) of Blacksburg, SC; grandchildren: John R. Harding, III (Pam), Kelly McDaniel (Brian), Erin Moorhead (Ti), and Katie Compton (Clay); nine great grandchildren, and brother -in-law, Rev. Ed Melvin.
In addition to her parents and husband, Ella Mae was predeceased by her siblings C. Brooks Hudson, Betty Hope, Glen Hudson, Neely Becker, Sam Hudson, and Martha Melvin.
The family appreciated the excellent care given to Ella Mae by Eleanor Michaels.
Graveside Services will be held Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at 11 AM at Mountain View Cemetery, Blacksburg, SC. The family will receive friends following the service and other times at their respective homes.
