Billy Eugene Rayfield

Billy Eugene Rayfield, 68, realized on Monday, September 12, 2022, that God didn't turn his back on him and had never left him. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Herman Rayfield and Estelle Batchelor Martin. Billy loved outdoors, living a simple life, working on his land with his Kubuto or gardening. He enjoyed being creative working with his hands or just sitting by the creek. 

Cherishing his memory is his daughter, Amanda R. Walker (Michael), sons, Michael "Booter" Rayfield and Daniel K. Rayfield, all of Blacksburg. Also, his grandchildren, Helen Dawkins (Blake) of Lancaster, SC, Maria Rayfield (Jason), of Gastonia, NC, Sierra, Gracie, and Emily Walker, Blacksburg, Jonathan Duncan, Isaiah, and Anna Bella Rayfield, and his great grandchildren Brooklyn and River Dawkins and Jack Bell. His brother Yates Moore and sisters, Robin Short and Pat Herrin as well as many nieces and nephews. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a special sister, Judy Herron.

The family will hold a private memorial service on Saturday.
