Billie Jean Hardin Bolin, 79, Smyrna, SC, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, December, 27th, 2020, at her residence, with her loving family by her side. A native of Blacksburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late Iliff F. and Cora Bell Hardin. She was the devoted wife to James Edwin Bolin, Sr. They are members of Hopewell Baptist Church and had served together in worship ministry for 9 years at Pride Resort in Maggie Valley, NC while in retirement. Mrs. Bolin had a servants heart and served several churches in the area playing piano and organ and leading worship and directing drama as well. She also enjoyed quilting, being a seamstress, gardening, camping, cooking, traveling and especially spending time with her grandchildren. A graduate of Hickory Grove High School, she was a former basketball player and accomplished athlete. Mrs. Bolin began at Tucker Agency in Charlotte, NC as an office manager then was promoted to Vice President of the agency. She retired from Screen Prints, Smyrna, SC serving in various capacities there as well.
In addition to being a devoted wife, she was a devoted mother to son; Rev. Eddie Bolin (Tara), Blacksburg, SC and daughter; Robin Bolin, Conway, SC. She was a loving sister to John G. Hardin, Rock Hill, SC, Louise Falls, Smyrna, SC and Cora Bell Gardner, Rock Hill, SC. Mrs. Bolin was blessed with 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her brother Ben Hardin and sister Sara H. Kay.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, December 30, 2020, 1:30-3:00pm, at Hopewell Baptist Church. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 3:00 with Reverends Eddie Bolin and John Hopkins officiating. Burial will follow at Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery. On behalf of the family and White Columns, we ask all those who attend to please wear a mask and practice social distancing.
