Olin "Pete" D. Ramsey

Olin D. "Pete" Ramsey, 82, 819 Bear Creek Rd., Blacksburg, SC, went home to be with the Lord December 7, 2018, at home surrounded by family. He is the husband of Frances Brandle Ramsey and son of the late Jeanette Broome Ramsey and Winston T. Ramsey. He attended Christian Fellowship Church and was retired from Hoescht Celanese where he was a Supervisor. He was a member of Buffalo Lodge 202 and was in the US Army. He loved his family, fishing and gardening.

Left to cherish his memory, in addition to his wife, Frances, are two sons - Bryon Ramsey of Oak Ridge, NC, and Bruce Ramsey(Jennifer) of Greenville, SC; two daughters - Janet Askew(Keith) of Hillsborough, NC, and Donna Ward(Reese) of Charleston, SC; nine grandchildren - Jamison Askew, Nathan Ramsey, Mitchell Askew, Walker Ramsey, Ben Ramsey, Gavin Ward, Rhett Ramsey, Katie Ward and Rachel Ramsey; and two brothers - Marvin Ramsey of West Monroe, LA, and Ralph "Bud" Ramsey of Blacksburg. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his grandson - Aiden Ramsey and three brothers - Paul Ramsey, James Ramsey and Henry Ramsey.

The family will receive friends December 15, 2018, at White Columns, from 6-7:30 PM with Masonic Rites beginning at 6:00 PM. A Celebration Of Life Service will be held December 16, 2018, at Cherokee Falls Baptist Church,3:00 PM, with Rev. Willie Lanier, Rev. Chad Ramsey and Rev. Tim Knotts officiating. Military Honors will follow at the church. At other times, the family will be at the home.

Pallbearers serving are Jamison Askew, Nathan Ramsey, Mitchell Askew, Walker Ramsey, Ben Ramsey and Morris Ramsey. Honorary pallbearers serving are Gavin Ward and Rhett Ramsey.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Christian Fellowship Church, or to the March of Dimes.
