Lula Hodges Clary, 98, formerly of Blacksburg, went home to be with the Lord January 30, 2019, in Greer, SC. She was the wife of the late Albert D. Clary and daughter of the late Colin and Dora Norris Hodges. She was a charter member of Holly Ridge Baptist Church. She taught Sunday School over 50 years. She was a master seamstress, cook, and baker. She loved her family.
Left to cherish her memory are one son - John Clary and wife, Donnie, of Greer, SC; daughters - Merilus Taylor and husband, Earl, of Myrtle Beach, SC, Janis Oeschlager and husband, Keith, of Murrels Inlet, SC, Annette Burnham and husband, Dan, of Hartsville, SC, Lynn Clary and husband, Billy Garey, of Florence, SC, and Robin Clary of Columbia, SC; 17 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 2 sons - Derrell Clary and Dennis Clary and 1 daughter - Phyllis Parker.
The family will receive friends Sunday, February 3, 2019, from 1-2:00 PM, at First Baptist, Blacksburg, SC. A Celebration Of Life Service will follow at 2:00 PM with Dr. Brooks Clary officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Paran Baptist Church Cemetery, At other times, the family will be at their respective homes.
Grandsons and Great-Grandsons will serve as Pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
