Linda Elizabeth (Gibson) Fortenberry

Linda Elizabeth Fortenberry, 70, 716 Sipes Street Kings Mountain, NC, went home to be with the Lord, February 25, 2019, at CaroMont Regional Medical Center, Gastonia, NC. Born in Spartanburg, SC, she was was the wife of the late Joe Fortenberry and is the daughter of Addie Elizabeth (Davis) Ellison, of Gaffney, SC, and the late Adolphus Gibson. She was a member of Mt. Whitaker Baptist Church and sang in the choir. She was a former employee of Nestle's. She loved to travel to Chimney Rock.

Left to cherish her memory, in addition to her mother, are three step-daughters - Della F. Childers and husband, Wynn, of Kings Mountain, NC, Amanda F. Talley and husband, Tommy, of Grover, NC, and Robyn Fortenberry, of Grover, NC; eight grandchildren; two brothers - Daniel Gibson and wife, Rita, and Tony Gibson and wife, Janice, both of Gaffney, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and father, she was preceded in death by one brother - David Gibson and one step-daughter - Cindy F. Ray.

The family will receive friends Thursday, February 28, 2019, from 3-4:00 PM, at Mt. Whitaker Baptist Church. A Celebration Of Life Memorial Service will begin at 4:00 PM, with Rev. Michael Owen officiating. At other times, the family will be at their respective homes.
