Corene Elizabeth (Moore) Harris

Corene Moore Harris, 84, 706 N. Shelby St., died unexpectedly December 27, 2017, at home.  Born in Cherokee County, she was the wife of the late Paul Harris and a daughter of the late John and Rachel Lanier Moore.  She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and was a retired textile worker.  She was a caregiver and loved her dogs.

She is survived by two nephews - Michael Moore and Danny Wray both of Blacksburg and five nieces - Judy Ross and Doris Horne both of Blacksburg, Robin Farr of Pea Ridge, SC, Carolyn Capps of Charlotte, NC, and Sheilah Beverly of Lake Wylie, SC.  In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Danny Ray Harris, who died at birth, brothers - William Moore and Jill Moore, and sisters - Mae Caveny and Mary Mullinax.

The family will receive friends Saturday, December 30, 2017, from 1:30-2:30 PM, at White Columns.  A Graveside Celebration Of Life Service will be held afterward at 3:00 PM, at Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Lucky Earls officiating.  At other times, the family will be at their respective homes.

Pallbearers serving are Michael Mullinax, Matt Farr, Jim Capps, Nick Capps, Jonathan Mullinax and Kane Beverly.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to your local Humane Society.
